I think it’s remarkable whenever politicians find new ways to interact directly with voters.
There are a couple of great things about Obama’s recent AMA on Reddit that I would like to muse on for a moment.
Obviously, there are more young people in my circle of social networking talking about Obama’s conversation with the internet than about the Republican convention. Regardless of whether they are posting negative or positive comments (though they are all positive so far) this is on their fingertips.
Also, I think the most important part of President Obama’s AMA is his directness with the public. He is speaking to a wide audience of politically diverse Americans, directly asking them what their concerns are, and then addressing their concerns with detailed and thoughtful responses.
This is how you use technology in a politically innovative way.
