My dear friend Ryan is releasing an album in early November, and it is going to be all sorts of  awesome. I almost collaborated for one of these songs (didn’t due to technical difficulties with my flute) and even the rough tracks sounded really amazing. Like, I would freaking love this band even if I didn’t personally know and adore all of the members.
But I think Ryan can say it better:

Over a rainy weekend back in January, my cousin Matt, our lifelong friend Kurtis, and I recorded drums at my grandparents Momyers’ beach house for our then-in-between-names musical project. That weekend signaled the kick-off in a labored and constant 10-month effort of songwriting/rewriting, recording, mixing, producing, embellishing, and self-promotion that finally sees fruition on November 1st. We proceeded unimpeded even through my move to rural Alaska! It’s not without some trepidation that we set our baby free “in the wild.” But I believe - as does each member of Neahkahnie - that we’ve created something special. We’re confident that our self-titled debut album will touch something in everyone - be they mom, gearhead, steering-wheel drummer, bedroom dance-enthusiast, lonely-heart college kid, or grizzled golden-age audiophile.

Neahkahnie will be released November 1st for FREE DOWNLOAD through our website, www.NeahkahnieBand.com and through Soundcloud.

In addition, we are offering a Limited Edition copy of our record on 180-gram, Cokebottle Clear Vinyl through Kickstarter during the month of November only! We have incentive levels with memorabilia as diverse as screen-printed band posters, hand-engraved USB copies of the album, band trading cards, and an intimate, invitation-only house show on January 5th - not to mention the vinyl itself at a cool $20. Visit our Kickstarter page on November 1st for details, and to pledge your support for as little as $1!

I hope you’ll check us out next Thursday, and I hope you’ll share us with your friends and loved ones! Thanks for your support!
