In the 1950s my grandmother was jailed for being a pregnant teen. I’ve seen pictures, and she looked like a total greaser. It changed the rest of her life, and I now have a paranoid, some times depressed, grandma. She’s also one of the strongest, hardcore, and freaking FIERCE woman I know.

I couldn’t be prouder of the person I’m named after.
